Joanna's bachelorette party was one of my all-time favorite girls weekend getaways. We spent 4th of July weekend in Big Bear at a lovely cabin in the woods. Although our zip lining tour was rained out, we still managed to stay busy with games, drinks, good food, and lots of laughs. From a weiner tip snipping contest, to customized cucumber penises and penis cake decorating, we had our share of silly bachelorette-style fun. We touched our toes in the lake, sipped champagne in the hot tub, roasted marshmallows, survived an earthquake, sang Karaoke, wine tasted, danced, lounged, went alpine sliding, and played with sparklers. An overall wonderful weekend celebrating an amazing bride-to-be!

Garden Variety
Our garden is winding down for the year (thankful for such a very long growing season!), with only a few pepper plants hanging on to soak up a few more days of extended daylight. It has been our best garden yet, and the most fun trying new veggies like potatoes, green beans, artichokes, and corn. And if you want to know what I've been up to all summer, check out my freezer: fully stocked with tomato soup, marinara, peppers, apples, peaches, plums, strawberries, green beans, salsa, orange juice, and apple juice. I'm ready for winter.
